Riyadh’s luxurious Rosewood properties, Al Faisaliah Hotel and Hotel Al Khozama are taking their environmental responsibilities seriously and have developed a combined action plan which they have already started implementing.

Paper, plastics, glass, aluminium and food waste will be recycled and a reduction of paper, water and electricity usage are all part of the hotels’ commitment to putting sustainability at the forefront of their business objectives.

Staff training and motivation, the use of energy-saving light bulbs and even a review of in-room cosmetics and toiletries is being undertaken.

Peter Finamore, managing director of Al Faisaliah Hotel said: “At Al Faisaliah Hotel and Hotel Al Khozama and indeed at all Rosewood hotels and resorts, we take the earth’s environment seriously and are committed to being good stewards for future generations.  We’ve implemented the Verdes initiative right across our organisation and are engaging guests and employees in helping to ensure we are constantly striving to improve our environmental performance.”

Under the Verdes initiative, the hotels promise to Value the Earth’s Resources and Demonstrate Environmental Sensitivity.

At its core, Verdes has four key responsibilities; embrace a sense of place, provide ultimate hospitality, nurture nature and, lastly, educate and dedicate.
