Mahan Air, the privately-owned Iranian carrier based out of Tehran, carried 276,533 passengers in February, an increase of 81 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The February performance is also a record for Mahan since it launched in 1992, with just two planes – the airline now has a fleet of 25 Airbus and Boeing aircraft and operates 28 routes in Europe and the Middle and Far East.
Available seat kilometres has also increased by 69 per cent and the airline system-wide seat factor reached 82 per cent, an increase of more than 10 per cent and, despite the 65 per cent increase in the number of flights, the departure delays decreased by three per cent.
