Rixos Hotels has announced the appointment of Kees Hartzuiker as the group’s chief executive officer. Prior to joining Rixos he was vice president operations, Asia for Hilton Worldwide. Hartzuiker has also held several senior positions in Europe, the Middle East and Asia with Hilton Worldwide.

New staff at Golden Tulip Al Jazira
Yousef Deeb (pictured) has been appointed as business development director of the Golden Tulip Al Jazira Hotel & Resort, Abu Dhabi. Prior to this, he was director of sales at Holiday Inn in Dubai and Sharjah. Viviane Khoury, who started her career with Samaya Hotel Dubai, has been appointed sales manager for the property.

Park Hyatt Dubai has announced the appointments of director of sales and marketing Waike Papke (pictured), spa manager, Amara, Simone Lange and chef de cuisine, Café Arabesque, Ali Al Haj Hasan.
Papke was previously at the Banyan Tree Al Areen in Bahrain for two years.

Bernhard Kern has been appointed director of food and beverage at the Kempinski Hotel Ajman. He rejoins the Kempinski after a brief stint in an identical position at Millennium Hotel in Chengdu, China. He has worked in several Kempinski properties in China, including Chengdu and Sanya Bay.

Safi Airways appoints new executives
Safi Airways has appointed Captain Werner Borchert (pictured), as executive vice chairman. He was formerly COO of the airline based in Kabul.
Borchert played a pivotal role in the launch of Etihad Airways and Jet Airways. The Afgani airline has also appointed Thomas Bommer as director of sales and marketing.
