THE Suzhou Marriott Hotel opened its doors to guests earlier this year offering luxurious accommodation, exquisite restaurants, modern design and great meeting space. The new hotel incorporates the latest innovations from Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International's performance-driven brand. Operating under a long-term management agreement between Marriott International and Suzhou New Development Investment Company, the property's general manager is Jerry Miao and director of marketing is Loren Zhu. In celebration of its opening, the hotel currently offers a special introductory rate for deluxe accommodation, complimentary internet access and breakfast buffet for two, valid until March 31. Situated in an ideal downtown area for business travellers, the Suzhou Marriott Hotel is close to the new high-tech development zone, adjacent to Suzhou Government and Administrative Service Centre, with easy access to Suzhou International Expo Centre and Spacious guest rooms are designed to accommodate both leisure and business visitors, featuring plush new bedding, bathrobes, flat screen television, ergonomic chairs, high speed internet and a well lit full-sized desk. The executive lounge is located on the 48th floor and boasts a superior view of the city. In keeping with Marriott's global redesign of the traditional hotel lobby into a social hub, the Suzhou Marriott Hotel lobby space is open and inviting. Various defined zones allow guests to utilize the space for a range of activities, including socializing, independent relaxation, business meetings or simply having a meal. Located in the lobby area are two food and beverage outlets. The Lounge is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the Pulp Bar serves up drinks, dinner, music and entertainment. The hotel also offers three specialty restaurants featuring international cuisine and local favorites. There is also a 24-hour fully-equipped fitness centre as well as the award-winning Quan Spa. For meetings the hotel is furnished with the newest audio and visual equipment, the property offers 1,579 sq m of flexible space, consisting of 13 meeting rooms and a ballroom of almost 464 sq m for up to 450 people. Suzhou Marriott Hotel along with over 3,100 Marriott-affiliated hotels worldwide, participate in Marriott Rewards, the guest reward programme which allows its 30- million-plus members to earn points or airline miles for each dollar spent during each stay. In addition to the newly opened hotel, Marriott's portfolio in the city also includes the 380-room Renaissance Suzhou Hotel. A third addition, 267-room Courtyard by Marriott Suzhou is currently under development and is expected to open later this year. Suzhou Marriott Hotel is the tenth property to be flagged under the Marriott Hotels and Resorts brand in the country.
