Cyprus will be making a strong showing at GIBTM with a host of travel agents, events companies and hotels joining the country’s stand to showcase what the island has to offer.
The Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO), Middle East and Gulf Office in Dubai, confirmed that those attending include Amathus Destination Services, Columbia Hotels & Resorts, CPC Events, Holiday Inn Limassol, InterContinental Aphrodite Hills, Korona Tours & Travel, Le Meridien Limassol, Lordos Hotels Golden Bay and Lordos Beach, Neon Conferences & Incentives, OM Destination Management, Orpheus Luxury Travel & Tours, Outbound Travel and So Nice Boutique Suites.
CTO has also launched an incentive aimed at attracting Mice traffic from the Middle East region. Depending on the size of the group, there are various worthwhile incentives on offer including gifts and airport assistance.
The offer is valid for agents and Mice groups from Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, India, Singapore, Hong Kong and China.
In December 2009 the CTO also welcomed a group of specialist Mice travel agents from the UAE to Cyprus to showcase the destination product and services.
A CTO spokesman said: “This initiative has certainly convinced the trade partners that Cyprus is an ideal gateway for Mice groups being in close proximity to the Middle East and overflowing with rich history and culture, adaptable cuisine and excellent climatic conditions with a good choice of venue locations to host various events.”
