Ibrahim Saleh has been appointed as the new chief operating officer of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) in a major restructure of the management of the region's premier shopping and entertainment event.
The restructure was announced by chief executive Hussain Ali Lootah, six years after the team successfully made it the region's biggest event of its kind, local media reported. Other appointments announced by Lootah include Saeed Al Naboodah as the new chief marketing officer; Elham Abbas as corporate communications director; Laila Suhail, corporate alliance director; Ibrahim Abdulrahim, administration director and Najwa Al Rahma, special projects director. The restructuring is part the DSF Supreme Committee's efforts to strengthen the DSF organisation and motivate dedicated people to work harder to make DSF one of the biggest tourism events in the world. "The promotions and redesignations come as a reward for the invaluable contribution made by these persons. But the new posts also impose a greater responsibility on them to bring in freshness and innovation into the festival," Lootah said. "Dubai Shopping Festival carved out a new position for the emirate of Dubai which was earlier famous as a commercial centre and a venue for conferences and trade events. Having achieved that objective, we now face the tough task of enhancing the reputation we have so painstakingly built. "DSF has grown from strength to strength because of the commitment of government departments that are members of the Organising Committee responsible for creating innovative projects and activities during the festival." Lootah hailed role of the DSF Supreme Committee headed by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Department of Civil Aviation and chairman of Emirates, in taking DSF to new heights of success.
