Rose Rayhaan by Rotana has been inaugurated to become Dubai, UAE’s latest landmark and the tallest hotel in the world as certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Commenting on the opening, Omer Kaddouri, senior vice president UAE operations for Rotana said: “Rose Rayhaan by Rotana is not only the tallest hotel in the world but also the UAE flagship for Rotana’s alcohol-free brand Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts.

“We are indeed very proud to be managing this landmark property. Rotana will now be operating 11 hotels in Dubai, with two more scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2010, which will add 547 rooms to Rotana’s inventory in Dubai.”

The company will open its second Centro brand in Barsha in March 2010 and the Amwaj Rotana at Jumeirah Beach Residence the following month.

Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, a soaring 72-floor tower structure, including 12 mechanical floors, 333-m high is a dramatic addition to the scenery on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Construction began in 2004 by Arabian Contracting Company (ACC), with the Khatib & Alami Group as architect and Bonyan International Investment Group as developer. At the end of 2006, the building reached its full height with the addition of the spire and the Rose Rayhaan by Rotana joined the list of the 10 tallest buildings completed in 2007.

The property offers 482 rooms, suites and penthouses with their modern designs complementing the values of Arabian culture. Each has its own kitchenette, high-speed internet connection and a variety of amenities and facilities. Rose Rayhaan by Rotana features several food and beverage venues, the most up-to-date-technology in its eight meeting rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, outdoor swimming pool and sauna and steam rooms.

There are plans to convert the hotel from a four-star category to a five-star hotel this year.
