Ramada Hotel agreed for Makkah

Ramada Worldwide continues its expansion in Saudi Arabia, with the signing of an agreement for the five-star, 700-room Ramada Plaza Makkah.

The brand’s master licensee and developer in Saudi Arabia, Riyada International Hotels and Resorts, signed the agreement with Tadawul Al Jezeera Real Estate Company and Al Masa Hotel Management Co, for the property which is scheduled to open in early 2011.

It will be the third Ramada in the Holy City and the 12th in the kingdom.

 

Discover gems of Rennaisance

The Renaissance experience and its new modern brand identity were recently launched showcasing a brand new web portal for the collection of 141 gems in 28 countries around the world. The new website, www.renaissancehotels.com, uses storytelling and experiential packages and promotions celebrating the uniqueness and rich travel experiences at each hotel and location.

 

Party partnership

Grand Hyatt Muscat has entered into a partnership with Zeenah Events to help companies host memorable functions.

The new partnership is celebrated in a brochure entitled The Place To Be, which details all the possible theme parties and events that can be arranged at the hotel ranging from an intimate party for a few friends to a gourmet dinner night or spectacular Broadway and Bollywood extravaganzas.

Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay in Oman was voted the ‘World’s Leading New Resort’ at the grand final of the World Travel Awards – also known as the travel industry’s Oscars.

In a worldwide survey conducted by the World Travel Awards, amongst professionals in the travel and tourism industry, Zighy Bay came out top to scoop the much coveted award for best resort newcomer.

 

Grand Hyatt status awarded

Following upgrades and investments in recent years, including enhancements to guest rooms and suites, meeting space and public areas, Hyatt Regency Istanbul has announced its conversion to Grand Hyatt Istanbul.

The brand change aligns the property with the other 34 Grand Hyatt hotels around the world, recognised by international travellers as leading properties in major gateway cities and international resort destinations.

 

First Doubletree Hilton for Saudi Arabia

Hilton Worldwide has announced the signing of a management agreement with Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Almousa Trading Group for the first Doubletree by Hilton in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at Al Khobar.

The 304-room new-build Doubletree by Hilton, Al Khobar will be located in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province and is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2012. This latest deal reinforces additional Doubletree by Hilton hotel openings scheduled for Dar Es Salaam and Zanzibar, Tanzania in 2009 and Ras Al Khaimah, UAE in mid-2010.
