ORGANISERS of the inaugural Bahrain International Airshow are confident of success with the private aviation sector proving a particularly strong participant.
Though it comes close on the tail of the Dubai event, the Bahrain show is aiming to establish its own niche with Amanda Stainer, exhibition and events director of Farnborough International, which is staging the show in conjunction with Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs, explaining that it will be primarily a business-to-business event and highly client focused.
The main line show area is made up of 40 chalets, providing five-star surroundings, which were sold-out some months ago and there are no exhibition halls as both static and flight displays will happen directly in front of the chalets.
Around 40 companies from 40 countries are due to take part including BAE Systems, Bell Helicopter Textron, Air BP and TAG Aeronautics.
And private flying is strongly represented by the likes of Cessna, Gulfstream and PrivatAir.
The show runs from January 21 to 23 at the Royal Airfield at Sakhir and, though a mainly business focused event, tickets are available to the public for all three days.
l Organisers recently announced that the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa has been awarded the catering contract for the show with Captain Abdulrahman Mohamed Algaoud, deputy chairman of the event’s organisation committee saying: “We are very pleased to have, in The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa, the perfect catering partner at our side, well known for its international hospitality expertise and the highest level of service excellence. We are very much looking forward to a successful airshow that will bring the global aerospace community together for a unique showcase in Bahrain.”
