ILTM’s platinum partner The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW), which represents more than 450 of the world’s finest hotels, resorts and spas, will be showcasing 59 of the organisation’s members during this year’s event.

“For over 80 years, The Leading Hotels of the World has understood the finer points of hospitality and luxury where first-class service is a norm rather than an exception. The world of luxury travel is changing though,”said Claudia Roth, vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

“Recent research has shown that luxury is going through some re-definition. For many travellers today, ‘entertaining’ has replaced ‘pampering’ as the buzzword in luxury. Luxury travellers are valuing the uniqueness of their travel experience.  The key for hoteliers is to embrace the basics of great personal service.”

She believed the importance of ‘entertaining’ and ‘uniqueness’ was well illustrated by the success of LHW’s initiative targeting food enthusiasts intrigued by the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s leading chefs.  Hotels all over the world including in Berlin, London, Florence, Florida, Sorrento, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Vietnam, Phuket, Avignon and Melbourne, offered cookery master classes in the chefs’ own hotel kitchens.

Roth said:“It is those hoteliers who focus on their core and signature services that will prosper and grow their business.”
