PERU offers many different luxury train journeys, but the most famous is the Hiram Bingham which runs from Cuzco to Machu Picchu. Built at the beginning of the 20th Century to link the Cusco with the Lower Urubamba Valley and the Amazon Basin beyond, this Orient-Express service has the capacity to carry 84 passengers. The carriages were refurbished to reflect the luxury of the 1920s Pullman era.
