Staybridge suites “more home than hotel”

Sawaya

STAYBRIDGE Suites Abu Dhabi Yas Island is the first of its kind in the GCC, according to its general manager Fady Sawaya.

It has a concept of being “more home than hotel. Its unique mix of domestic environment with full hotel services allows guests to live life their own way”, he said.

Recruiting the right team for the hotel was crucial. He said: “These are the people who will be delivering the Staybridge homely spirit to our guests. The global economic situation has made it more accessible for us to recruit the right people for Staybridge Suites. Many of our highly experienced team had been recruited from the surrounding areas which may not have been possible previously.”

Staybridge Suites will offer 165 suites and the neighbouring Crowne Plaza 428 rooms. Both hotels have six unique bars and restaurants catering to all tastes. They are located next to each other on Yas Island, so Staybridge Suites guests can also fully benefit from Crowne Plaza’s variety of bars and restaurants.

The cap set on the hotel room rates during the Grand Prix will be an advantage to the properties, said Sawaya, who has started taking bookings and has received many enquiries.

“The local, GCC and the European markets will be our key source and within these markets we will be targeting both the extended stay guests who will be working in Abu Dhabi for a period of time and families that prefer spacious suites while they are on vacation,” he said.
