Barbados is set for its largest-ever boost in air connectivity from British Airways (BA), with the airline increasing seats by 70% for the 2026/2027 winter season and more than doubling summer 2027 capacity.
The expanded
schedule could add over 120,000 seats annually through the relaunch of a
year-round London Gatwick service. From October 25, 2026, BA will operate a
daily direct flight from Gatwick to Grantley Adams International Airport,
complementing existing daily Heathrow services.
During winter, BA
will operate three daily UK-Barbados flights, including one from Gatwick and
two from Heathrow. The Gatwick service will continue into summer 2027, marking
BA’s first double-daily summer service to Barbados.
The Gatwick route
will operate jointly with Guyana, Tobago or Grenada on six days each week, with
a dedicated Barbados service on Wednesdays. The increased capacity is expected
to support year-round tourism and access to events including Crop Over Festival,
Dive Fest and Rally Barbados.
