Another ibis opening in Dubai

ibis Mall of the Emirates has opened, adding 204 modern rooms to Dubai’s economy hotel market. Situated close to the shopping mall, the new ibis has initial room rates starting from Dh299. The hotel expects to cover all economy markets, appealing to business travellers saving on costs as well as families travelling to Dubai for shopping or a city break. ibis MoE has 153 double rooms, 49 twin bedrooms and two special needs rooms. Many of the rooms are interconnected and suitable for families, while all feature IDD telephones, satellite flat screen TV, high speed Internet and WiFi connections, as well as a 24 hour laundry service.

 

Soft opening for  Afamia Rotana, Syria

Rotana recently announced the soft opening of the Afamia Rotana Resort, a five star property in Latakia, Syria. Headed by general manager Safwan Khayat, the resort has 246 guestrooms including one, two and three suites with beach views, along with 14 beach cabins. Features and amenities include private balcony or terrace, mini bar, IDD, modern bathroom and shower, guest toilet, hairdryer, TV wide variety on international satellite channels and an in room safe. Meeting and event facilities are ideal for hosting annual conferences and seminars. A conference hall with foyer is available for up to 350 people, plus private meeting rooms and a ballroom with capacity for 500 people. Other amenities include a health and fitness centre with indoor swimming pool, a private sandy beach with a marina, two outdoor swimming pools, tennis court and a children’s playground club.

 

Rezidor in Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia

The Rezidor Hotel Group recently announced the Al Muna Karim Radisson Blu Hotel in Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The 322 room property is scheduled to open in time to welcome its first guests during Ramadan. The group is also developing the Al Madinah Paradise Radisson Blu Resort, due to welcome its first guests in Q4 2010. Located in the heart of the city, the hotel will feature 322 guest rooms, an all day dining restaurant, a meeting room and a shopping arcade. Due to its prime location and high standards, it is expected to attract many religious tourists who visit Madinah annually, particularly during the Hajj and Umrah period.

 

Hyatt goes mobile

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts launched its Hyatt mobile functionality which allows guests to find and book hotels, access and modify reservations, and check in or out through any web enabled mobile device. The functionality is available at www.hyatt.com. Guests who visit this website from a mobile device will automatically be directed to the new version of the site where they will find features including how to find and book a hotel by location, access special offers, obtain reservations with corporate or group rates, view and change a reservation, web check in and check out (where available), access travel tips and view maps and directions to the property from the nearest airport.
