ACCOR'S sixth hotel in Dubai will add 480 rooms to the market, boosting potential to promote the city as a destination for visitors on a budget.
The opening of the Ibis Al Barsha last month signalled the third hotel in the Ibis and Novotel cluster for Accor in Dubai, following its development of midscale and budget properties at the Dubai World Trade Centre and the City Centre in Deira.
Located on the Sheikh Zayed Road close to the business hubs of Internet City, Media City and Jebel Ali Free Zone, as well as the Mall of the Emirates and the Jumeirah beachfront, the ibis Al Barsha will be the first of five Accor properties in the area and aims to serve both business and leisure travellers; offering year-round value pricing plus all the facilities and services expected by visitors to Dubai.
According to general manager Philippe Montaubin, the hotel has a long term strategy to boost visitor markets that dovetails with the current move to discount rates prevalent in the city. “At ibis Al Barsha, we are launching with a brand promise to deliver economy rates year round, not just for a few months,” he said.
With initial room rates starting from Dh299, the hotel expects to cover all markets, appealing to business travellers and families alike. The hotel has 378 double rooms, 100 twin bed rooms and two special needs rooms across six floors, many of the rooms are interconnected and suitable for families, while all will feature IDD telephones, satellite flat screen TV, high speed Internet and WiFi connections.
