Etihad launches “world deals” packages
Etihad Holidays, a division of Etihad Airways, has launched a “world deals” promotion offering packages to more than 20 destinations in 15 countries, with highlights including Melbourne, London, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing and Johannesburg. Its first packages to Melbourne, Australia, to which the Abu Dhabi based airline starts flying in March 29, start from Dh4,480 for a four night stay and return economy tickets. Customers can stay at one of five hotels for four or five nights including the Sofitel from Dh5,640, Grand Hyatt from Dh5,450 and  Citigate Melbourne from Dh4,695. Other promotions offer customers the chance to book breaks to London to watch Chelsea Football Club in the Barclays Premier League.

MJets expands fleet with Citation X
MJETS, the private jet company under the Minor umbrella, is set to expand its fleet with the delivery of a Citation X this month. The aircraft was selected because it can fly eight passengers between Bangkok and Dubai in less than six hours. MJets has operated luxury private planes in Asia for over 10 years, offering travel to popular destinations in Asia including Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

Emirates boosts Middle East network
Emirates Airline has this month added its flight frequency to Amman, Riyadh and Jeddah, bringing Middle East services to 50,000 seats on 180 flights per week. These additions follow the airline’s increase of services to Damascus last December, from nine flights a week to 11. The new services will enable greater access and facilitate traffic flows between Middle East and key markets in Europe, Africa, the Indian sub continent, Far East and Australia. 

Travelport connects with Kuwait and Jordan
Travelport GDS (global distribution system providers) has announced a new multi year, content agreement with Wataniya Airways. Under the new agreement, fares, schedules and content from the new premium Kuwaiti airline will be made available to Galileo and Worldspan users worldwide, according to a company official. Travelport GDS later announced it had renewed its distributor agreement with the oneworld member, Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ), to continue distributing the Galileo GDS in Jordan. The airline has been distributing the Galileo system to travel agents in Jordan since 1991 and the new agreement marks the start of an even closer, direct distributor relationship between the two organisations.
