MAÇKA Palas, a landmark building in Istanbul, Turkey, is now home to the Park Hyatt Istanbul-Maçka Palas, following the hotel’s grand opening at the end of last year.
It offers Middle Eastern guests a new level of luxury and style in the heart of Istanbul, according to Thierry Bertin, vice president sales and marketing, south west Asia, Hyatt Hotels.
“Turkey continues to be one of the leading hot spots for Middle East travellers. High fashion and style make Istanbul a natural holiday choice. With the Park Hyatt Istanbul – Maçka Palas now open, guests can add first rate hospitality and complete pampering to their Turkey experience,” he said.
Located in the fashionable Nişantaşi residential and shopping district, the hotel combines the historic architecture of an Art Deco building with innovative interior design. Housing the existing Emporio Armani, Gucci and informal boutiques, the hotel is also within walking distance to many other upscale designer fashion houses, as well as trendy bars and restaurants.
Maçka Palas was built in 1922 by the Italian architect Guilio Mongeri, who was inspired by the elegant Palazzos of Milan. The relationship between old and new is displayed throughout the hotel.
There are 90 deluxe rooms, including seven Park suites, one executive suite, one diplomatic suite and a presidential suite. The residential top floor suites will offer a private terrace and large rain sky showers.
Each guestroom features an oversized wet room clad in local fossilised limestone offering five different bathing experiences and 25 of them include an authentic Turkish bath, complete with heated stone seat. The separate dressing and vanity area features a second sink with filtered hot and cold water, and 24 rooms offer a refrigerated cosmetics and medicine cabinets.
