THE second Routes Regional Americas event - an annual gathering of the region’s route development industry - is being held by the Route Development Group (RDG) from February 15 to 17 in Cancun, Mexico.
This year’s event at the Hilton Golf & Spa Resort will be hosted by Aeropuertos del Sureste de México (ASUR), the Mexican airport group that operates nine airports in the southeast of the country including Cancun, which handled 12 million passengers last year.
The Routes Regional Americas event is the only airline/airport networking event for all the Americas. It is a ‘one stop shop’ for air service to, from and within the region, reinforcing the industry activities throughout the year, and via decision making made at the event, it is said to directly shape the region’s future air networks, new air services and this year, route recovery strategies.
A pre conference on ‘Route Development in Tough Times’ will take place on the Sunday prior to the opening, and during the event the newly formed International Air Route Development Association (IARDA) will be holding its Americas chapter meeting.
The second annual Tourism and Air Services Summit (TAS) will be co-located with the event.
Airports delegates from Orlando, Hamilton, Tampa, Quiport and Houston are among those attending, and airlines such as Delta, LAN Airlines, VivaAerobus, Continental and US Airways will also be present.
Interested delegates can contact Routes at www.routesonline.com
