Career day introduced to ATM 2009

A NEW career day is to be launched at next year’s Arabian Travel Market 2009, and travel agent’s day returns.
The Middle East’s top exhibition, ATM attracts inbound and outbound tourism professionals aimed at unlocking business potential in the Middle East and pan-Arab region. Those interested in exhibiting or attending are invited to register online at www.arabiantravelmarket.com.
Reflecting the growth and diversity of the region, this event attracts industry and government decision makers at high levels. It consists of four days of intensive business meetings and with the latest industry news, leading edge products and educational seminars.
The 2008 event hosted a record number of travel industry representatives, with 2,229 exhibitors and over 16,000 visitors. Products and services showcased on the exhibition floor increased by 9 per cent from the previous year and there were seven new exhibiting countries.
The travel agent’s day will take place on Thursday May 7 and provides travel agents with the opportunity to hear destination briefings as well as meet exhibitors and explore destinations, new products and services. They will also be offered the chance to complete a competition mock passport and be entered to win prizes.
Careers day is a new initiative, aimed at enabling exhibitors and visitors interested in working in the industry to meet. It will be held on consumer day, Friday May 8, 2009.
Simon Press, ATM exhibition director said, “ATM grows in success year on year. In 2008 delegate numbers included 1,532 buyers, 976 members of the press, 7,480 travel trade professionals and 3,507 non trade visitors.”
