Rotana Human Resources and IT departments announced they have launched a joint project known as “Rotana Insight” that go live in all Rotana properties this month.
“Rotana Insight” is a digital signage mechanism that is centrally managed and built to accommodate many communication modes of information sharing, such as audio, video, presentations, images and tickers.
The system is divided into two components; one is installed at the corporate office and the other at the property.
“Rotana will be the first to implement a global system where corporate and property news can be broadcasted simultaneously to all our team members,” said Samir Abi Frem, corporate vice president, Information Technology for Rotana.
Joseph Abou Yaghi, corporate vice president Human Resources for Rotana said, “Our objective is to deliver messages to specific locations during specific times in the company in order for our colleagues in Sudan, Kuwait, Egypt Lebanon, Syria and United Arab Emirates to receive the message as soon as its posted, because at Rotana, we believe that the effective communication is the key of our success.”
“For that, we would like to exchange information with little effort and embed the Rotana culture by sharing success stories and communicate all the future developments and openings with our team, for their new career opportunities. The main targeted place is the employee outlet in each property, where daily traffic ensures that the messages are seen,” he said.
Rotana’s Human Resources Department has put a complete proactive plan together, which includes and not limited to, employee development, retention, surveys, competency program, centralization of recruitment through rotanacareers.com and the search for new markets to source talent people.
“We are expanding at a phenomenal rate and, because of this; our resources are well focused on our own employees and their retention. We currently have 8,000 employees and by 2012 the company will be increasing its manning by 150 per cent, which makes the approximate total number of employees 18,000,’’ said Yaghi.
