Tempo Holidays recently launched its first Winter in Europe program, featuring packages in Germany, France, Austria and Czech Republic.
Austrian Airlines, which operates nine flights to Vienna per week, Maison de la France and the German National Tourist Office have partnered with Tempo Holidays to produce this program, published in a six-page mini brochure.
In the style of Tempo’s distinctive food-related brochure covers, this cover features a steaming-hot Christmas pudding.
In all there are 11 packages, mostly three- or four-day breaks which could be linked for a wide ‘Europe in Winter’ experience, said Tempo’s national sales manager, Mark Johnson.
“We have experienced a steady increase in demand from agents for a stand-alone program like this, which draws on some of our existing product as well as product we have specially sourced,” he said.
“The seven-day Festive Christmas Markets of Germany tour, priced from $1403 per person twin share, is expected to be especially popular.”
Tempo is featuring three exclusive packages (four days’ Bavarian Winter Escape from $1525, four days’ Magical Cologne from $1028 and four days’ Romantic Rhine Indulgence from $1345), besides its hallmark Taste of packages for Vienna ($652), Paris ($477), and Salzburg ($337), a 3 days Advent Weekend in Prague ($265), 3 days Opera in Prague ($468), 4 days Germany Christmas Delights ($773) and 3 days Christmas in Alsace ($407).
Package prices in all cases include hotels, breakfasts (and in some cases other meals), entrance fees, sightseeing and ground transport.
Tempo's winter offers are geared towards families, couples and friends who wish to explore and experience the Christmas spirit in some of Europe's well known cities such as Vienna, Prague and Salzburg. Many people have travelled to these cities already, mainly during the summer months, however the company feels they can offer both seasoned travellers and first timers the chance to see these cities in a new light.
BULGARIA
Tempo Holidays is adding Bulgaria to its 2007 Greece Turkey brochure.
Launch products will include a two-night Taste of Sofia package (from $250 per person twin share) and a seven-day coach tour including four- star hotels, Roman ruins, old Bulgarian monasteries, city tours of Plovdiv, historic Veliko Turnovo (from $1,530 per head twin share with 3 meals a day, sightseeing and admissions).
Tempo Holidays will offer private airport to city hotel transfers at Sofia.
Product manager, Nigel Loveday said Bulgaria extended options for both Greece and Turkey travellers. “We have sourced hotels that meet our Tempo standards and we have developed a great seven day coach tour to offer a well rounded introduction to Bulgaria,” he said.
Bulgaria is developing rapidly and offers many good quality hotels at much cheaper rates than elsewhere in Europe, he said.
"It is a surprisingly rural country with forests, mountains, traditional villages and farmlands and its monasteries are well worth visiting," he added. Bulgaria is Tempo Holidays' 43rd destination.
