Srilankan Airlines carried a record number of passengers from Saudi Arabia to Malaysia during the second half of 2006, with over 3,500 travellers choosing the carrier for flights into Kuala Lumpur.

Riza Yusoof, Srilankan Airlines’ country manager for Saudi Arabia believes that the combination of world recognised service, competitive fares with convenient departure and arrival times has allowed the airline to cement its position as the carrier of choice for passengers flying from Dammam and Riyadh into the Malaysian capital. “SriLankan Airlines has shown that it is by far the favourite airline for flyers travelling from Saudi to Malaysia, as reflected in the growth of our bookings. We offer the fastest connecting flights to Kuala Lumpur from Dammam and Riyadh, with a transit time of only one hour at Colombo. Our direct flights from our hub into the Malaysian capital arrive at 13:00, which is an ideal arrival time for checking into hotels and our return flights depart at 13:50, which is perfect for checking out”, said Yusoof.
“In addition to our Saudi services we also offer five flights per week from Bahrain to Colombo and connecting Malaysian flights, and customers living in Saudi’s eastern province find this to be more convenient,” he added.
As of this year, the airline has been offering a range of special promotional airfares to Kuala Lumpur that are available for customers to commemorate Malaysia’s 50th year of independence.
