Trip.com Group, a leading travel company, announced a strategic partnership with Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) to promote the emirate as a global tourist destination. This collaboration highlights Abu Dhabi's growing appeal as Trip.com data reveals a significant surge in travel to the Middle East.
The announcement came at Trip.com Group's Global Partner Summit in Abu Dhabi, which celebrated a year of strong growth with a 70 per cent increase in Asia-Pacific bookings. The summit brought together over 2,000 industry leaders to discuss the future of travel and the industry's resilience following recent challenges.
Trip.com Group CEO Jane Sun emphasised the importance of collaboration in the travel industry. The summit, themed "A Shared Journey to a Better World," underscored this message, focusing on creating new opportunities and a brighter future for travel.
The company highlighted its achievements, including a 60% year-on-year growth in hotel and flight bookings, with the Asia-Pacific region demonstrating exceptional performance. Trip.com Group's partnerships with airlines like Ryanair and its recognition by IATA further solidify its leadership position.
Trip.com Group is transforming how travellers access experiences by streamlining connectivity for suppliers through its Open API Platform. This simplifies booking attractions, tours, and activities for travellers, while offering a seamless experience.
Trip.Biz, the group's corporate travel arm, also reported strong growth, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Innovative solutions like the Trip.Biz VCC payment system contributed to a 53 per cent year-on-year rise in clients.
The new partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi aims to position Abu Dhabi as a premier global destination. Trip.com Group will leverage its extensive network to connect travellers with Abu Dhabi's attractions, resorts and cultural offerings.
