The Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel will open two new outlets in the first quarter of this year.
Mondo will offer an Italian menu, while Kontiki will serve a mixture of Thai, Vietnamese and Polynesian cuisine. Kontiki will be a casual, family-orientated restaurant which extends to the swimming pool area and will have a live outdoor cooking section.
The opening of these two outlets will mark the end of a total renovation of the hotel. All 246 rooms have been upgraded and fitted with orthopaedic mattresses, tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, mini bar and Internet connection. Four types of room - Maritime, Italian, Classic and Royal Club – have been created.
Around $13 million was spent on the revamp, which extended to the refitting of all carpets and the installation of new elevators. Further plans include the introduction of a health club and the construction of an adjoining apartment block, due to commerce this year.
