InterCon sales jump 43pc
Dubai:
The InterContinental Hotels Group has achieved major success with a drive to attract Middle East travellers to InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels and resorts both overseas and within the region. The company’s Middle East Global Sales Office has generated a growth of 43 per cent for the second half of 2003 compared to the same period last year. The results mark an extraordinary 35 per cent positive variance on the year’s forecast. 

Hoteliers upbeat on F1 profits

Bahrain’s tourism industry is back in the race despite a global slump, with hoteliers predicting huge benefits on the back of the Formula One Grand Prix in April. Bahrain’s tourism industry is looking up, after a year in which the war on Iraq, international terror alerts and the Sars scare robbed some hotels of up to half their business. Nervous travellers cancelled trips and some conference organisers either postponed their events or moved them to other countries - hitting Bahrain’s hospitality industry hard.

Taste launches new menu
Fujairah:
Taste, Le Meridien Al Aqah’s restaurant, has recently launched a new menu in order to cater to the hotel’s growing cosmopolitan clientele. The Asian fusion restaurant, promises to take diners on an exotic culinary experience with a menu featuring dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.

InterCon scoops awards
DUBAI:
InterContinental Hotels Group in the UAE is celebrating its food and beverage achievements, following recent success at the 2nd Annual Grumpy Gourmet Awards. Four restaurants from three of the Group’s properties were recognised as the Best in the UAE in their respective categories.
