The Jebel Ali hotel and resort sports a new look this summer after a complete refurbishment.

The beachfront Jebel Ali Hotel and Golf Resort in Dubai is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with great summer packages.

The 128-acre property was first inaugurated in 1981 and has undergone complete refurbishment last summer.

Sporting three pristine private beaches, the longest being 800 metres, the 406-room resort is comprised of the Palm Tree Court, a 144 room resort-style lowrise complex completed in December 2000, and the 262-room original hotel.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, the resort is offering room rates starting at just Dh240 ($65) for a golf view room in the original hotel building while a deluxe Palm Tree Court room is on offer for only Dh390 until September 15.

"When you consider that up to two children sharing their parents' room in Palm Tree Court are accommodated free, this indeed becomes a very appealing deal," said a hotel spokesperson.

Jebel Ali's landscaped gardens strewn with fish-filled streams, ponds and mini waterfalls makes it a true paradise on the Arabian Gulf. Sun worshippers can always find a comfortable sunbed on the beach, by the pool or on the grass beneath the palm trees.

Only 25 minutes from Dubai's centre, the resort offers a full spectrum of leisure and sporting facilities.

They include a helipad, a marina offering sailing and deep-sea fishing trips, a 9-hole par-36 golf course with floodlit practice greens, modern riding stables and paddock for the resident horses, camel rides, a shooting club for clay, pistol and target simulated shoots, and a variety of watersports including waterskiing and wind surfing.

There are four floodlit tennis courts, squash and badminton courts, billiards and snooker, health spa with jacuzzi, sauna and massage treatments and the Children's Peaco Club.

The executive rooms and suites are designed for the most discerning of guests, offering top-level services on the fifth floor at the Royal Peacock Club in the original hotel building, and at Palm Tree Court, the Royal Jasmine Court.

Offering state of the art audio and visual aids, the conference facilities at the resort make this the perfect destination for business travelers, especially when combined with the appeal of the extensive on-site incentive options.

The ballroom can accommodate up to 1,200 people, and can be divided into smaller meeting or conference rooms to suit the needs of any function.

An additional valuable service to families staying at the hotel, young guests aged from three to twelve are well looked after at the Peaco Club. Varied, interesting and fun activities help keep the little ones entertained: There's face painting, sand castle competitions, movies, stories, kite flying and nature trails, finger puppets, origami, and cookie making, all the fun things kids love to do.

Jebel Ali also offers multiple dining and entertainment choices ranging from ethnic specialites to rich international cuisine to suit different tastes and ambience.

"It is truly hard to find a match for the portfolio of facilities at Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort. The far-sighted investment plans of the owners, Dutco Group, has ensured that the resort has continually added the type of facilities which the cosmopolitan guest is seeking," said Gerhard Hardick, the resort's general manager.

"The end-result is a leading five star resort, which can offer a complete range of room options to suit all tastes and budgets, plus the most extensive leisure facilities in the Arabian Gulf region."
