Hotels from Dubai were in the spotlight at the inaugural Hotel Intelligence Middle East "Achieving Industry Excellence" Awards.
They won 10 of the 14 categories decided during an 'Oscars' style gala ceremony at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai. JW Marriott led the way, winning three categories at the Depa Arabtec-sponsored event, introduced to recognise and encourage world-class standards in hospitality across the Middle East. It was also highly commended in three other categories in the new annual showpiece which was co-sponsored by Aramex, Douwe Egberts, Restonic and Arla Foods. Three other Dubai hotels, Al Maha Resort, Emirates Towers and Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa, along with the Ritz Carlton Sharm El Sheikh, collected two awards each. The Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, Le Meridien Abu Dhabi, and the Grand Hyatt Amman, were the other big winners, The winners from a list of 65 nominations were judged by an international panel of industry experts. JW Marriott Dubai won the awards for best hotel suite, best hotel restaurant innovation, and best hotel conference facilities.
