Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Department of Dubai Civil Aviation, chairman of Emirates Airlines and chairman of DSS Supreme Committee gifted Dubai Summer Surprises 2003 to the children of the world during a press conference organised to announce the key sponsors of the event.
Dubai Summer Surprises 2003, being organised for the sixth year has five new Themed Weeks amongst the 10 themed surprises. DSS 2003 will start with the Flower Surprises on June 19, 2003, followed by Cartoon Surprises, Colours Surprises, Sweet Surprises, Knowledge Surprises, Ice Surprises, Arts Surprises, Heritage Surprises, Adventure Surprises, and will end with Back-to-School Surprises on August 29, 2003. Presenting the event to the attendees, Sheikh Ahmed said, "Under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and the ambitious efforts of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Defence Minister of UAE and Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE does not need to past a test to prove yet again that it is an oasis of peace and Emirates stability."
