Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi has been named upscale hotel of 2000 for the Middle East and Africa by Bass Hotels and Resorts.
The award recognises the hotel's high standard of service to business and leisure travellers, and corporate clients, as well as its active role in the local community. The hotel also received a mention in the upscale category for best guest and employee satisfaction. Another of Bass' seven UAE properties, the Holiday Inn Resort Sharjah, received the award for best profitability in the midscale category. The hotel also received an honourable mention in the midscale category for best revenue generation. Other winners in the upscale category included the Crowne Plaza Kuwait - best revenue generation; the Massarrah Inter-Continental Taif - best profitability; and Le Vendome Inter-Continental Beirut - best guest and employee satisfaction.
