Sheraton Dubai Creek to reopen after facelift

The newly-named Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers is to re-open this month following a massive, five-month renovation, the final phase of its mufti-million dollar property refurbishment.

Almulla Enterprises LLC, the owning company, has invested over $10 million in this latest upgrade phase, which brings the total investment in renovating the Creekside property to more than $20 million over the past five years.

"The hotel is to be completed as planned and will re-open early October offering a world-class facility to our guests", stated James Munro, area manager Dubai and general manager of the hotel.

"This property, the only 5-star in Dubai located directly on the Creek, now has a brand-new look and more Creek-view rooms, average 42 sq ft, and a new facade," Munro said.

The 255-room Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers, which has 30 suites, now features a new elegant limestone exterior and a landscaped front entrance with a new spacious lower lobby and direct access to the Executive Conference Centre and Dubai Ballroom. A dedicated elevator gives access to disabled from the street to lobby level.

An upgraded Business Centre catering to the needs of modern business travellers is now situated next to the Conference Centre, which boasts a new hi-tech boardroom for up to 10 people as well as redesigned and renovated function rooms.

The hotel also features the emirate's newest conference facility with three meeting rooms and a boardroom providing some 320 square metres of space, Easily accessible, the Executive Conference Centre is on the ground floor a d has separate entrances both from the lobby and car park.

"Given Dubai's ascending profile as an international MICE venue, this facility is expected to have widespread industry appeal", Munro stated.

Hotel Design Consultants (HDC), which has offices in Rome and Los Angeles, was behind the renovation design. The company has previously designed the hotel's Ashiana Indian restaurant.

Plans for the international marketing of the new-look hotel are advanced and include the launch of special Ramadan packages designed for the GCC market. A high-profile promotion will also take place at London's World Travel Market (WTM) in November .

"We will be at WTM with a presence both on the Starwood corporate stand and on the Dubai stand," explained Ahmed Baki, director of sales & marketing at the hotel.
