Swiss tourism does well

Switzerland Tourism is showcasing its popular product – the Grand Tour of Switzerland – at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM). The product offers the best of Switzerland in one single route, says Matthias Albrecht, director GCC, Switzerland Tourism.

Having participated in the ATM over 10 times, Switzerland Tourism will concentrate on specific customer segments to improve its presence in the market.

'Last year’s business was excellent. We had again a huge growth of arrivals from the GCC (24 per cent) and overnights (20 per cent). In comparison to 2009 we have almost quadrupled our figures,' he says.

Referring to the current state of the market, he says that though conditions are challenging, Swiss tourism has had good results.

'Our unique product helps us to overcome difficult conditions. We will focus more on specific segments and will increase our presence in the market,' he adds.
