Last month, Tracey Curtis-Taylor recreated Amy Johnson’s historic flight in 1930 from Great Britain to Australia, supported by global hospitality partner Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces. Curtis-Taylor hopes to recreate the essence of Johnson’s era of flying, with an open cockpit, stick and rudder flying with basic period instruments and a short range between landing points. On her route, however, she is adding in a few extra stopovers in the UAE and Oman before heading to India. Taj will host the British aviator at Taj Dubai, The Gateway Hotel Ummed in Ahmedabad, The Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi and Taj Bengal in Kolkata.
