Atana Musandam Resort won the ‘Hospitality Project of the Year’ award at the Construction Week Oman Awards that took place at the Grand Hyatt Muscat recently.

The resort was also shortlisted in the Sustainable Project of the Year category. The ‘Hospitality Project of the Year’ award adds to the growing number of awards and accolades received by the resort since its soft opening last year.

'This achievement goes beyond the walls of Atana Musandam, as it reflects Omran’s ongoing commitment to develop the highest quality hospitality destinations and ensure sustainable operations in the tourism industry,' says Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) group CEO Wael Al Lawati.

Built in the shadow of the ancient Khasab Castle, Atana Musandam makes for the ideal place to relax with family and use as a base to explore all that the breath-taking Musandam peninsula has to offer, be it watching dolphins, snorkelling the azure waters or exploring the towering fjords.

The resort is managed by the National Omani Hospitality Company, an Omran subsidiary, and Atana is the first ‘home grown’ hospitality brand to be established in Oman.

Pascal Eppink, managing director of National Omani Hospitality Company, commented: 'Atana Musandam is a real success story for Oman and a wonderful destination for visitors both from at home and abroad. By implementing the highest quality hospitality standards at Atana Musandam, we ensure the maximum operational efficiency of the resort and progress in the sector for years to come.'

Located on the Musandam peninsula, the Atana resort draws on elements of traditional and contemporary Omani culture and identity, and was constructed with environmental sustainability as a key consideration. Earlier this month the resort was also presented with Leed certification for green building, becoming only the second development in Oman to receive this prestigious rating.

Atana Musandam offers 110 rooms, each promising views across the harbour. The resort has been gaining attention since its soft opening in April 2014, and has since become a desirable destination for those who visit the peninsula.

Atana Hotels can be found at stand number ME2010, sharing with Oman Ministry of Tourism.
