Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national airline, marked 12 years of commercial operation with the introduction of its new ‘Flying reimagined’ experience, which was unveiled at a brand campaign launch in Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Airways introduced its revolutionary cabins, namely The Residence, the Lobby and The First Apartment, in its new television commercial starring Hollywood screen icon Nicole Kidman. Showcasing a novel concept of an apartment in the sky, the commercial premiered at the gala event.
The commercial, which was shot on-board the airline’s flagship Airbus A380, features the Australian actress in the cabins, being served drinks in The Lobby, relaxing in the First Apartment and falling into bed in one of the three rooms of the Residence.

Peter Baumgartner, the airline’s chief commercial officer, said: “Etihad Airways is constantly pushing boundaries, taking inspiration from the world to provide a superlative inflight experience for our guests. This new campaign has succeeded brilliantly in bringing our unique brand and service ethos to life on film, in print and on digital channels.”

Complete with a three-room suite that includes a living room, bedroom and ensuite bathroom as well as a personal butler at hand, Etihad has revolutionised opulence, creating a unique living space in what is called The Residence, offered on the A380.

In addition to that, the airline has created two renditions of the First Class – the First Apartment on the A380 and First Suite on the 787 – which include a personal wardrobe, vanity unit with exclusive amenities and a First Class Bathroom, delivering uncompromised privacy for the discerning traveller.

The airline has also revamped its Business and Economy Class, offered on both the 787 and A380, creating a sense of space and freedom with clever designs and a mood-lighting system.

James Hogan, president and CEO of Etihad Airways, said: “The A380 and the Boeing 787 have cemented our position as a leader… not only in innovation but also in flair.”
