MARJAN Island Resort & Spa, a member of Preferred Hotel Group, is a Islam-friendly family resort in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.

Situated on the man-made coral island of Al Marjan, the resort offers an idyllic location on the shores of the Arabian Gulf.  True to its concept of ‘serenity meets dynamics’, it offers plenty of entertainment, from dune safaris, skydiving, diving excursions for sport enthusiasts, wildlife-watching or traditional camel races for nature lovers, and luxurious relaxing in the Lamar Arabian Wellness Spa.

The alcohol-free hotel has 301 spacious rooms and suites, sized between 40 and 350 sq m, with magnificent views of the sea. The resort features 159 Superior and Premium rooms, 107 suites, and eight family rooms, 13 Gulf Suites, 12 Emirates Suites and two Royal Suites.

There is also a dedicated spa floor with 35 rooms and suites, spa butler service and spa private lounge.

The Lamar Spa is undoubtedly the highlight of the property, an oasis of Arabian hospitality spread across 1,000 sq m. The various treatments on offer include the Pharaoh treatment (a revitalising body massage with gold oil) and hot stone, Swedish and Thai massages starting from Dh350 ($95). The spa also has Moroccan and Turkish bath rituals and beauty treatments.

The luxurious spa at the resort

Lamar Spa recently opened the gents-only ‘Man Space’, which offers treatments in hair care, shaving, facials, hand and foot care and uses cosmetic lines from Comfort Zone and Davines.

Zaitouna House, the resort’s Lebanese restaurant, is located on the waterfront promenade and is perfect for al fresco dining with truly Lebanese and Levant flavours. It is a memorable sunset venue for first-rate mezzes or the most lavish grillades and the place to be for late evening lounging and light snacking. Al Liwan is the resort’s all-day dining facility, Casa Maghrib is the Moroccan cuisine speciality restaurant.

Younger guests are not forgotten: the Pirates Club has games for toddlers and teenagers with a pool table and table tennis, as well as artsy activities such as clay modelling or painting under expert guidance.

The Turtle Beach Club, meanwhile, offers a large water play area for children, while parents can have a leisurely barbecue.

Families, adults and children have a chance to stroll down the corniche, a 1.2 km waterfront boardwalk, or ride a bike to enjoy the fresh air, and sunset views. Snorkelling, banana boat and donut rides, wakeboarding, body-boarding and windsurfing, sailing, parasailing and water skiing are also offered.

Marjan Island Resort & Spa will be present at ITB Berlin to showcase its offerings to the market.
