Residence Inn by Marriott Manama Juffair associate survived the Amwaj Marina Obstacles Challenge

The Residence Inn by Marriott in Manama Juffair, participated in the Amwaj Marina Obstacles Challenge held on May 30, 2014 organised to support Bahrain Cancer Society. 

The event is part of Marriott’s corporate core values "Spirit to Serve Our Communities".  The Amwaj Marina Obstacles Challenge 2014 is the first of its kind in all the GCC countries. It is supported by The Bahrain Cancer Society, a non government funded organisation, the event was a great opportunity for family & friends to participate in a social atmosphere outside of the workplace, while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle, and push themselves to their limits.

The Amwaj Marina Obstacles Challenge was more than just a run, it' was an epic challenge wild through a grueling 4km twelve Obstacles course. Participants had to carry a 10kg weight over 50 metres in a 1 metre depth in the sea, crawl through thick mud, climb up & down inclined walls 5 meters high, uneven terrain and water/mud holes. The Amwaj Marina Obstacles Challenge was a challenge for everyone to test themselves, help others along the course and have a laugh with their mates. The event was untimed and all participants received a Certificate of Achievement on completing the course.

Residence Inn by Marriott Manama Juffair, sponsored the event by providing healthy meals after the race to all participants. Florence Lantuejoul, Marketing Executive, who attended the run, said that it is a great opportunity for Marriott to participate in this charity event and support the community. It was a wonderful experience to join hands with the organization to support the Bahrain Cancer Society.
