flynas flies to Cairo

flynas, the leading low-cost carrier with added value (low cost carrier plus) from Saudi Arabia, announced the further expansion of its strategic global flight routes programme with the launch of daily non-stop flights from Jeddah to Cairo starting June 2014.

flynas will now fly to seven destinations in Egypt, with Cairo being added to its existing route network of Alexandria, Assiut, Sohag, Luxor, Sharm El Sheikh and Aswan. flynas has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Egyptian carrier Nesma Airlines. The airline recently announced the launch of long-haul flights to Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, London Gatwick, Manchester, Paris, Casablanca, Lahore and Islamabad.


Qatar Airways gets A380

QATAR Airways chief executive announced this Arabian Travel Market that the airline will officially move to the newly opened Hamad International Airport in Doha. Also that the airline is expecting its first Airbus A380-800 early this month, the first of 13 ordered.

This is the ‘Year of the Fleet’ for Qatar Airways as the airline plans to significantly expand its fleet with 300 additional aircraft, worth more than $60 billion, on order including 80 Airbus A350s, 13 Airbus A330 Freighters, 60 Boeing 787s, 13 Boeing 777s (including freighters), 50 Boeing 777x, 80 Airbus A320s Neos and 13 Airbus A380-800s. The airline has also introduced a new daily all premium Business Class service from its hub in Doha to London Heathrow.

This new service is the first of its kind in the Middle East, with an Airbus A319 aircraft fitted with an all Business Class, single aisle, 2–2 seating configuration offering 40 seats.
