The Meliá Paulista

Meliá is the fourth most admired hotel company in Brazil, and an overnight stay at The Meliá Paulista in São Paulo only goes to prove that. With a perfect location on the Avenida Paulista, one of the most important business districts in Latin America, the hotel is probably the best bet for Fifa World Cup fans.

The Meliá Paulista has 23 floors and provides 398 rooms; there are special suites for a more distinguished stay and rooms suitable for guests with special needs.

The Avenida Paulista is a haven of safety, as it is constantly monitored by law enforcement officers. Among the major museums in the city is the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP), only a seven-minute walk from the Meliá Paulista; the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) is a 15-minute drive from the hotel; the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), a 12 minute drive from the hotel; and the Football Museum, a seven-minute drive away.

There are several shopping centres in the city including the nearby Shopping Centre 3, which is a few minutes from the hotel by foot. But there are more retail experiences such as the Cidade Jardim mall, the JK Iguatemi mall and the Pátio Higienópolis. They are also well worth a visit and all of them are less than six km from the hotel – proximity is an important positive when visiting one of the largest cities in the world.

São Paulo is home to diverse cultures, nationalities, creeds and customs, and the city’s gastronomy is no different. Some of the traditional dishes of São Paulo include 'sanduíche de mortadela', prepared in a unique way in the city and worth trying. Although only 2.7 km long, the Avenida Paulista is one of the most important tourist attractions in São Paulo and even Brazil. It has many bars and clubs, which have made the area very popular. The famous Rua Augusta is easily accessible from here.

Meliá Hotels International continues to grow in Brazil, where it already manages 14 hotels and has nine other hotels pending opening. Meliá Paulista is the fifth hotel signed this year in Brazil. After its takeover, the hotel reopened in March 2014 as the Meliá Paulista Business and Convention Hotel and is expected to raise the profile of Meliá even further in Brazil.

The central location of Meliá Paulista makes it ideal for both business and leisure travellers, with 400 stylish suites and apartments plus a contemporary restaurant, bar and gym. The hotel will also offer provide seven meeting rooms and three events and conventions rooms, an excellent choice for hosting events.
