Route expansion… Cairo and Antalya

AIR Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa’s leading low-cost carrier, has strengthened connectivity with Egypt with the launch of non-stop services to Cairo, the capital city.

The new service marks Air Arabia’s fifth destination in Egypt and 90th worldwide. Starting February 27 this year, the airline offers three weekly flights to Cairo. Flights depart Sharjah International Airport in the UAE on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, at 13.00, arriving in Cairo International Airport at 15.20. Return flights depart Cairo at 16.00, arriving in Sharjah at 21:20 local time. Air Arabia currently connects passengers from Sharjah to Alexandria, Assuit, Luxor and Sohag in Egypt.

Adel Ali, group chief executive officer, says: “With tourism and trade in Egypt gathering momentum and led by the strong population of Egyptians who live and work in the UAE, our new service to Cairo will only add value to both nations. Besides, the capital city is one of the world’s most historically and culturally rich destinations.”

Air Arabia will also launch non-stop services to Antalya in the south west of Turkey. This service marks the airline’s second destination in the country after Istanbul. From July 29 this year, the airline will offer three weekly flights to the destination.

“Antalya is one of the most visited cities in terms of international arrivals, behind Paris and London,” says Ali. “This route provides a great opportunity for visitors to experience the rich culture and beauty of the Turkish riviera.”

Flights will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 21:30 arriving at Antalya International Airport at 00.45. Return flights will depart Antalya at 01.25 arriving in Sharjah at 06.25.
