Air Arabia adds Ha’il
AIR ARABIA has announced the addition of its ninth Saudi Arabian destination, Ha’il. The airline will run three services each week from its hub in Sharjah to Ha’il, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Adel Ali, group chief executive officer, Air Arabia, said: “Saudi Arabia is a key focus for us as we continue to expand our routes and destinations, three more flights on a weekly basis is another step in this plan.
In addition to Ha’il, Air Arabia operates non-stop flights to Riyadh, Jeddah, Madina, Dammam, Qassim, Yanbu, Taif and Abha in the kingdom.
The city of Ha’il is the capital of the Ha’il province in the North West of the Kingdom. It is a historic Oasis city famous for its beautiful mountain scenery as well as its link to historical Hajj routes.
GHA rewards for BalticMiles members
GLOBAL Hotel Alliance (GHA) has announced that it has partnered with BalticMiles, airBaltic’s loyalty company, to offer BalticMiles members the chance to collect points when staying at a Global Hotel Alliance member hotel.
BalticMiles members can now collect 500 points per eligible stay at participating Global Hotel Alliance hotels, which include Kempinski, First and Rixos Hotels. To collect points, BalticMiles members need to show their membership cards at the time of reservation and their accounts will be credited.
In addition to collecting points, BalticMiles members can also chose to sign up to Global Hotel Alliance’s own loyalty programme, GHA Discovery, to receive additional benefits. GHA Discovery was the industry’s first loyalty program to deliver experience-based rewards, including more than 1,000 authentic and memorable experiences throughout the alliance.

Live in-flight entertainment with Virgin
VIRGIN Atlantic has launched the Little Red Live – a line-up of live in-flight entertainment at 30,000 feet – available exclusively to passengers travelling on the Virgin Atlantic Little Red domestic service.
Passengers will be treated to exclusive, live music whilst en route to Edinburgh or Manchester.
Little Red Live will include performers from the popular Edinburgh Fringe Festival which features fresh talents performing live stand up in the sky before landing and taking stage in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Sir Richard Branson’s Little Red service flies from London Heathrow and six times daily to Edinburgh, three times daily to Aberdeen as well as four daily round-trips between Manchester and Heathrow.
Acts have been announced in Virgin Atlantic’s Facebook and Twitter channels.
Rotana Jet flies to Salalah
ROTANA Jet’s return flights between Abu Dhabi Al Bateen Airport in the UAE and Salalah in Oman continue this month on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays on a 50-seat Embraer jet. The two-month service, launched last month, feature a total of 23 return flights.

Oman Air helps to boost tourism
OMAN Air has been helping to promote the sultanate’s rich culture, heritage, history and landscapes. The airline is the official carrier and major sponsor of this year’s Salalah Tourism Festival which will run until September 6, 2013. Along with the Festival, Oman Air will also be promoting the wider attractions and facilities of Dhofar, which is also famed for its many archaeological sites and ancient Frankincense trade.
Oman Air has also extended support in showcasing the Sultanate to international audience with the release of a new Indian movie, ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Again’, filmed in and around the capital Muscat. The airline provided the crew with transport and logistical services.
