Hilton Worldwide expands footprint

HILTON Worldwide has also signed a new property with Al Hokair Group for its fourth hotel in Saudi Arabia’s industrious Eastern Province of Dhahran. It will be a 153-room conversion property which is expected to rebrand and reopen as DoubleTree by Hilton Dhahran at the end of 2013.   

DoubleTree by Hilton Dhahran will feature a range of quality amenities designed for both the business and leisure guest, including a large function room, four meeting rooms, a business centre and a health club.  Guests can also choose to dine in one of two different restaurants, one to be speciality, as well as a lobby lounge. Accommodation will include a complementary mix of well-appointed rooms and one and two-bedroom suites.

Dusit launches in Jiangsu, China

DUSIT Fudu Hotels and Resorts, the joint venture hotel management company between Thailand-based Dusit International and China-based Changzhou Qiao Yu Group, announced the soft opening of dusitD2 Fudu Binhu Hotel Changzhou in Jiangsu Province, China its first project in China, as well as the first Dusit-branded hotel to open in the People’s Republic.

With views over West Taihu Lake and conveniently located in the Wujin Hi-Tech Industrial Zone, the hotel aims to meet the increasing demand for high-end accommodation for business and leisure travellers.

 

Nine Hyatt Place hotels for Brazil

HYATT Hotels Corporation has announced a joint venture between a Hyatt affiliate and FSA Group SA, a Libra Group company, to develop and own nine Hyatt Place-branded hotels in Brazil. The total investment from Hyatt and FSA for the development of these hotels is expected to be approximately $270 million. The hotels will be located in key cities and towns that have established commercial and industrial infrastructure and will help meet the growing demand for quality accommodation across Brazil. The first of the properties is expected to open in 2016.

Starwood opens two properties in Turkey

STARWOOD Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened the Sheraton Bursa Hotel and Aloft Bursa Hotel, marking the company’s entrance into Turkey’s Bursa. Owned by Faik Celik Holding, the two hotels expand Starwood’s rapidly-growing portfolio to nine hotels across Turkey, adding more than 300 rooms to the culturally-charged industrial centre. The opening of the Sheraton Bursa Hotel fuels the brand’s growth as it remains on track to celebrate the opening of its 500th hotel by 2015. Aloft Bursa Hotel contributes to the phenomenal growth of the mid-market brand as it is poised to grow by 30 per cent in 2013 with its 75th hotel to open later this year.
