THE Al Khozama Management Company (Al Khozama) has further consolidated its position in the Middle East’s hospitality industry after winning five awards at last month’s World Travel Awards (WTA) held at the Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa in Dubai, UAE.
Speaking to TTN, Hussein Hatata, vice president, hotels division, said: “This is an extremely proud moment for us because these awards are testament to our contribution in elevating the standards of Saudi Arabia’s hospitality industry.
“Today visitors to Makkah can enjoy a host of personalised services including butler services, 24-hour room service, and spa facilities, none of which were available until we entered the market. Our vision is to introduce international standards including butler services across all major cities across the kingdom. It is essential for us to develop and evolve our services to our guests and continuously raise the bar in the kingdom.”
Hatata said that Riyadh one of the fastest growing cities in the kingdom and Al Khozama plans to launch 8,000 rooms between 2013 and 2016.
Al Kozama opened the new Bay La Sun Hotel in King Abdullah Economic City, north of Jeddah in April 2013 and is to manage two new properties in Al Khobar in the Eastern Province of the kingdom, scheduled to open in 2015.
More recently, Al Khozama joined hands with Kerzner International to develop and operate a new One&Only resort in Jeddah. With 150 guest rooms, suites and villas, a prestigious One&Only residential component, world-class dining and retail options, plus a health spa, the resort is set to become a destination for both business and leisure. The property will be located in Obhur, north of Jeddah and will boast extensive meeting facilities, creating a new epicentre for business in the city.
“We plan to expand the portfolio, and while Al Khozama will continue to operate four and five-star properties, we are looking to partner with a sub-company to launch a new range of hotels including three-star properties and heritage hotels,” he said.
