Al Gassar Resort redefines luxury in Qatar

THE Al Gassar Resort is Doha’s iconic new luxury waterfront destination offering its residents the ultimate in luxury lifestyle set in magnificent architecture, incomparable service and a wide range of facilities. This architectural landmark comprises five separate towers, each crowned with distinctive domes.

The centrepiece hotel of the resort is the newly opened St Regis Doha. Mohamad Sleiman, assistant chief operating officer for Al Gassar Resort speaks to TTN about their plans for this new destination.

With the St Regis Doha and the Residences Tower open, what else is in the pipeline?

Al Gassar Resort an iconic project within Alfardan Group portfolio has emerged as one of the most popular residential and hospitality destinations in Qatar, with its residential towers and hotel component the St Regis Doha which have helped consolidate the status of Al Gassar Resort as among the best in the country and across the region in terms of luxury, excellence and unparalleled service.

In addition to landmark luxury developments such as Al Gassar Resort, Alfardan Group will be launching new residential and hospitality projects in Qatar and the Middle East in the near future coinciding with the company’s solid vision in providing excellence in luxury and signature services which has been the legacy of the company since the onset.

How has your collaboration with St Regis help position the resort in the market?

The St Regis Doha is a premier luxury brand that commands a great deal of respect in the global hospitality industry and the Alfardan Group is synonymous for luxury goods and services only partners with the best brands in the world.

Therefore when the hotel component of Al Gassar Resort was being designed we knew that only a posh, bespoke luxury hotel brand would be suitable for this unique project and that is where our partnership with St Regis Doha began. A year has passed and Al Gassar Resort being a landmark waterfront destination in Doha is also well-known tremendously for its centrepiece component the St Regis Doha.

What kind of demand have you witnessed for the Residences?

Al Gassar Resort particularly stands out with its world-class luxury facilities, amenities and high-quality services, catering to a genuinely diverse market, including families, business executives and couples. Moreover, the success of this groundbreaking project strongly reflects the vision of the Government of Qatar, which is positioning the country as a world-class hospitality destination catering to a global market.

This clearly underlines the growing reputation of Qatar as a leading luxury destination for business, leisure and lifestyle, and we are confident that the Residences Tower as well as St. Regis Doha will serve as a major driving force behind this positive transformation.

We feel that our residents are looking for the extraordinary in terms of location, finishing, amenities, services, hospitality and entertainment all in one place; and Al Gassar Resort has successfully identified these needs and filled a gap in the market place for posh, customer-focused luxury residential developments.

With all eyes on Qatar, what is the state of the hospitality industry in Qatar today?

We are clearly witnessing an unprecedented boom in hospitality development across the country with high-profile projects such as Al Gassar Resort strongly demonstrating Qatar’s vision to become a leading global destination for business, leisure and lifestyle.

Under the leadership of HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar has now emerged as a top destination for the world’s biggest construction companies, engineering specialists and real estate developers looking to capitalize on the aggressive development projects being undertaken across the country.

Within the next five years alone, around $17 billion is projected to be invested in various tourism-related infrastructure projects by the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA). Moreover, Qatar is likewise fast tracking its hospitality development plans as preparations move ahead for the country’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2022. Alfardan Group has committed itself in line with visualization of Qatar by having new Hospitality and Residential projects ready by 2022.
