HUNGARIAN Tourism, the national body responsible for the international promotion of destination Hungary, announced its participation at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) being held at the Dubai International and Conference Centre.

The tourism board will  boost promotion of its unique health tourism products, Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing and Exhibition (Mice) travel packages and facilities, the capital city Budapest, and the areas surrounding Lake Balaton, within the Middle East in 2013.

Speaking about their participation, Marianna Tóth Denéné, CEO of Hungarian Tourism said, “The Middle East market has been a growing and increasingly important source market of visitors to Hungary over the last couple of years, and we see positive signs to suggest that this trend will continue. We expect a further increase in visitors from the region in 2013.”

The positive increase visitor numbers have been as a result of Hungarian Tourism’s proactive strategy of engagement with the regional travel trade, airlines and agents in offering high-quality with value as a leisure and business destination, variety of tourism products on offer, and country rich in culture and traditions.

Looking ahead, the tourism board is keen to develop health tourism, highlighting the numerous highly qualified and specialised clinics and hospitals as well as the country’s famous traditional medicinal water therapies.

Budapest will also highlight the city’s historical landmarks and royal castles, the comparative value-for-money advantage visitors can enjoy with particular focus on its up to 5,000 room inventory of first class and luxury hotels and accommodations. Hungarian Tourism will also introduce the district of Lake Balaton, Europe’s largest fresh water lake as an idyllic and safe holiday destination for Arab families.

Denéné adds that the ‘Danube Bend’, one of Hungary’s most popular romantic destination for couples with breathtaking views of Central Europe’s second longest river will also be ideal among Arab honeymooners. Andrássy Avenue is also home to the flagship stores of luxury retail brands that tempt shoppers on its tree-lined street.

2013 is expected to be an especially ideal time to visit Hungary due to the numerous festivals planned for the coming year including the Budapest Pálinka Festival and Museum Festival in May 2013, the three-month-long Budapest Summer Festival, from June until August 2013, the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix on July 28, 2013, St Stephen’s Day on August 20 2013, Sweet Days Chocolate Festival in September 2013 and the month long Budapest Christmas and New Year Fair from November 16 -December 31, 2013.
