FOLLOWING a successful introductory roadshow across the GCC, Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels has taken to Europe to promote its unique collection of boutique properties with an official trip to key destinations in Switzerland and Germany, including visits to the cities of Zurich, Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg.
The five-day roadshow, which is part of a broader plan to raise awareness about the Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels brand on a global level, is a dedicated initiative aimed at highlighting the hotels’ various offerings to potential premium clientele, high-level travel industry professionals, major Swiss and German corporations and other prospective partners in Europe.
“After having established a strong reputation in Qatar and the GCC, we are further expanding our vision to raise brand awareness, share our philosophy, and build a loyal customer base internationally. The main objective this tour is to highlight the unique experiences associated with the different boutique destinations that Swiss or German visitors can enjoy on a leisure or business trip to Qatar, or even during a stopover in the country. As part of our strategy to build the brand globally, we are also working with international tour operators towards organising familiarisation trips to Qatar for Swiss and German media, as well as travel professionals,” said Abdo Kayali, group director, sales and marketing, Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels, currently representing the properties in Munich.

“So far, the response from the travel community here has been extremely positive. There is great interest in our product and what we offer as part of our vast stay, as well as food and beverage, offerings in Qatar. People are also keen to learn more about our other popular features including the Al Rayyan Theatre – a 980-seat indoor amphitheatre located in Al Mirqab Boutique Hotel, and the complimentary dhow tours of Doha that we offer our guests. In the near future, we look forward to extending to visitors from Switzerland and Germany our authentic Qatari hospitality, a concept that has been experienced by few in this part of the world,” he said.
In the first quarter of 2013, Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels went beyond meeting the expectations the group had set with its grand opening and official brand launch last year. Several new creative dining concepts were also introduced including the Al Matbakh – The Rooftop Grill, Argan – a traditional Moroccan restaurant and its latest fine dining offering The Dining Room.
With a brand new boutique hotel and more exciting dining options to be launched this year, Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels aims to grow as the ultimate, world-class boutique destination in Qatar and across the region – blending cutting-edge design and amenities with traditional local influences across all properties that fall under its brand.
A variety of packages for both leisure and business travellers are on offer at each of the five-star boutique destinations. For more details on the different packages, please visit the hotel’s official www.swbh.com.
