THE Gold Coast Tourism Corporation launched its first dedicated Arabic Facebook https://www.facebook.com/GoldCoastVisit) and Twitter page (https://twitter.com/VisitGC) as part of the company’s strategy to further reach out to the Arab community around the globe.

The social media pages will have two to three news feeds every week with updated information on events, trade fairs, music, festivals, food and interesting destinations on the Coast.

Tourism directly contributes $4.6 billion into the Gold Coast economy annually and accounts for nearly 30,000 direct jobs in the city. In 2012 alone, the Gold Coast Tourism Corporation recorded approximately 113,000 arrivals from the Middle East and Africa.

The Gold Coast Tourism Corporation decision to develop a dedicated Facebook and Twitter page in Arabic that is catered exclusively to the audience in this region comes as a result of the company’s continuous effort to share their exciting offers with the Arabic speaking audience. Social media will be a new platform to aid communication with the local audience in their own language and with the Middle East customer in mind.
