Sheraton Mall of the Emirates set to open
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Majid Al Futtaim Properties have signed an agreement to open a Sheraton Hotel at Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. Scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2013, Sheraton Dubai Mall of the Emirates Hotel will comprise 481 guest rooms including 94 suites, four restaurants and lounges and nearly 9,000 sq-ft of ultra-modern meeting and event space. The hotel will be directly connected to Mall of the Emirates, which is home to over 535 international brands and features the Middle East’s first indoor ski slope.

Ramada Ajman completes renovation
Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman has completed its Dh10million ($2.7 million) hotel makeover and is now ready to offer a more luxurious accommodation to discerning guests. Additional 60 rooms have been renovated and an executive floor was added to accommodate the influx of tourists to the country during the high season. With the additional rooms, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman has now a total inventory of 400 rooms, the biggest in the northern emirates.
The newly-renovated Standard Rooms and Suites, available in studio, one- and two-bedroom suites, equipped with its own kitchen, are recommended for both short and long stays. The fully-furnished and carpeted Deluxe Rooms and Suites features a separate kitchen and living room, plus a connecting dining area. The Ritz-Carlton launches in Kazakhstan
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has announced the expansion of its luxury hotel portfolio in the CIS with the development of the first hotel in Kazakhstan. The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty is owned by a subsidiary of Capital Partners LLC.
The 145 room hotel is located in the 37 storey Esentai Tower within the mixed use Esentai Park development project in Almaty which includes an extensive shopping mall, Fitness Club and residential complexes. The hotel, located in the centre of the city, will offer Club and Suite accommodation together with over 10,000 square feet of meeting facilities.
Crowne Plaza Doha now open
Trans Orient Establishment and IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) celebrated the grand opening of Crowne Plaza Doha – The Business Park, the first Crowne Plaza hotel in Qatar with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The hotel, the first Crowne Plaza in the country, is located in the heart of Doha’s banking district. Just two kilometres from Doha International Airport, it is part of the new Business Park area in Doha and features 378-rooms, including 288 hotel rooms and suites and 90 one to two bedroom resident suites.
The hotel offers six food and beverage outlets: Rodizio, Brazilian Churrascaria; Misturado, the Brazilian lounge; Aramede, a Mediterranean all-day dining restaurant; Savor, an elegant lounge; Liquidity, the lively pool-side lounge; as well as the refined Crowne Plaza Club Lounge. Guests can also enjoy a rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre and spa. The hotel’s iconic glass-domed meeting venue, The Event Centre, is situated in the middle of the park complex and contains two state-of-the-art ballrooms.
