You’ve seen us on TV, now ‘come and make your own memories’. That’s the message VisitBritain will take overseas, as it uses the end of London 2012 Games to launch the next stage of the multi-million pound Great campaign and sets its sights on Britain breaking visitor records.
To capitalise on the increased global interest in Britain, a major marketing push has gone live with airlines, hotel companies and tour operators offering fantastic deals to ensure that, having watched the best of Britain on their screens, overseas travellers decide to experience the real thing for themselves.
The latest phase of the marketing campaign includes print advertising, advertorials and the release of a new TV ad, ‘Memories are GREAT’, which includes stunning imagery from the Olympic Opening Ceremony, positioned on leading consumer websites across the world.
To help capture the youth market VisitBritain has partnered with STA Travel and is working within their retail outlets and University Campuses to promote Britain for music, culture and shopping.
Chic Outlet announces airline partnerships
The Chic Outlet Shopping Villages by Value Retail have announced two key partnerships, with the British Airways Executive Club frequent flyer programme and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club frequent flyer programme.
Through its partnership with BA, members will be entitled to receive five Avios, the reward currency accrued through the British Airways Executive Club, for every £4 or €4 spent in any of the luxury outlet boutiques across the nine Chic Outlet Shopping Villages while Virgin Atlantic Frequent flyer members will be entitled to receive one Flying Clubmile for every £1or €1 spent across the nine Chic Outlet Shopping Villages.
To collect their Avios or miles, members must present their receipts along with their membership proof at the Tourism Information Centre or Welcome Centre in the Village on the day of purchase.
