Hilton announces second hotel in Iraq

HILTON Worldwide announced expansion plans in Iraqi Kurdistan, Northern Iraq, with the signing of a management agreement with the Mihtab Group to develop the first Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in Erbil, Iraq. The 300-room Hilton Erbil Hotel & Spa, which is expected to open in 2016, will be the second Hilton Worldwide property in Erbil following the 2011 announcement to develop a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton in the city. 

Hilton Erbil Hotel & Spa’s 300 rooms includes 30 suites and a further 10 chalets featuring a large health club, an outdoor and indoor pool and an upscale retail arcade. Dining options include two speciality restaurants, an all-day dining area, a destination bar, lobby lounge and pool bar. 

Fairmont debuts in India

FAIRMONT Hotels & Resorts has opened a new luxury hotel, the Fairmont Jaipur in India  on August 9, 2012, marking Fairmont’s entry into India. The hotel is ideally situated within India’s “Golden Triangle”, a geographic region that is home to dazzling palaces, timeless forts and notable landmarks like the Taj Mahal. With 255 guestrooms and suites including Fairmont Gold, the rooms reflect a modern, sophisticated style alongside the rich, cultural characteristics of the famed “Pink City” of Jaipur. The hotel features four restaurants and bars, 5,500 sq m of meeting space and a 1,300 sq m of Willow Stream Spa.

The hotel is offering a ‘Seeing Is Believing Package’ featuring a third night complimentary when booking two with breakfast and other cultural experiences such as a village walk, traditional folklore storytelling and Rajasthan dance show. This exclusive introductory package is available through October 31, 2012, with rates starting at INR10,000 ($180) per night for double occupancy. For guests looking to visit Jaipur after October 31, 2012, room rates start at INR 18,000 ($322).

Regent Hotels goes wireless

REGENT Hotels & Resorts has announced a brand-wide complimentary internet access across all five of its managed hotels in Beijing, Taipei, Berlin, Zagreb and Turks & Caicos. Complimentary internet will now be the standard in each of these luxury hotels, and will also be available in Regent’s upcoming openings in Bali, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Porto Montenegro, Doha and Abu Dhabi. This new convenience is one of the many amenities offered by Regent in their mission to make each traveller’s stay as stress-free as possible.
