RAK Airways has marked the introduction of long-haul flights with its 12th route to Bangkok, Thailand. Effective June 1, 2012 RAK Airways will offer four non-stop flights a week to Bangkok. RAK Airways CEO Omar Jahameh said: “With the introduction of our first long-haul route to Bangkok, RAK Airways has cemented its unique market position between the well-established full service carriers and the low-cost carriers.
Our value offering and route network is now markedly different to other carriers in the region; as one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations we are confident our Bangkok route will be extremely successful.” RAK Airways’ return, all inclusive fares to Bangkok start from Dh1,800 ($490).
RAK Airways re-launched operations in 2010 with two routes to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Calicut, India. Since then, the airline has focused on extending its route network across the GCC, Indian sub-continent and North Africa.
Included in the price of all fares is a full hot meal and beverages served free on-board all flights, along with a baggage allowance of 30kg per passenger in addition to the normal hand baggage allowance. There is also a free shuttle service between other emirates and RAK International Airport for each flight.
